THE CHURCH OF ST JAMES, COOLEY

Today on my travels around Co Louth I stopped of at the very beautiful and Historic Church of St James, Grange.
The Church was built in 1762 but it is believed that the site was previously occupied by a Cistercian monastery. The Cistercian Monks settled in Newry around 1144. It is very possible that people have been gathering there to worship for over 800 years.
